NORCROSS, Ga., March 30, 2009 – ExecuCare Addiction Recovery Center™ hosted The First Step in Recovery: A Seminar About Neurotransmitter Restoration (NTR) on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at The Hyatt Place in Duluth, Georgia, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event was highlighted by guest speaker Dr. William Hitt, the inventor of the NTR System™ and an accomplished immunologist. He discussed in detail the history of NTR and its development. Also, speaking was Stanford Owen, M.D., who is certified in three medical specialties: American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists, and Psychopharmacology. He is also the acting Medical Advisor for ExecuCare ARC. Dr. Owen discussed the relationship between amino acids and addiction, and the critical role amino acids play in addiction recovery. Robin Kirby, who has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, is an educator and founder of Loving Impact, spoke about the integration of NTR with traditional treatment, as well as her first hand experience of working with ExecuCare ARC and utilizing NTR as a first step in recovery.
Neurotransmitter Restoration (NTR) is an intravenous treatment of amino acids (the building blocks for neurotransmitters and receptor systems), vitamins and minerals. NTR detoxifies as it restores the brain’s receptors and balances the brain’s chemistry. Because the body is getting what it needs naturally, NTR safely detoxifies while decreasing post acute withdrawal symptoms, drastically reducing cravings and restoring clarity of mind. The all natural treatment is 10 days and outpatient. Studies have shown that by addressing the physical form of the disease first with NTR, an individual is better prepared to make the behavioral, social and psychological changes necessary in the next phases of recovery.
“I was very pleased with both the participation and information presented at our seminar,” said Mike Sanders, Founder of ExecuCare ARC. “Our greatest challenge is awareness of our protocols as a first step in recovery. It has been shown extensively that nutritional protocols improve outcomes. The NTR treatment accelerates the healing of the brain in just 10 days, so that we can transfer a patient more cognitively ready to make the life changes necessary for ongoing recovery.”
With clinics located in Norcross, Ga., and Slidell, La., ExecuCare ARC is one of the few places in the country that implements the Neurotransmitter Restoration treatment. They ensure each patient receives compassionate, individualized attention from the staff in a private, comfortable setting. ExecuCare ARC operates with an extensive referral program. While there, patients are seen by licensed clinicians to determine a comprehensive treatment program and to plan the next step of their recovery.
